infolol Editorial guide
How a new patch changes statistical interpretation
Why a large sample can stop being current advice after a patch, and how infolol labels aging datasets.
Sample size and freshness are different quality axes
A 1,000-game sample is less volatile than 100 games, but it may no longer explain current choices after champion ratios or item costs change. First-day data is current but often too small.
infolol therefore displays patch, collection date, and sample together. Aging data is labeled as an archived snapshot rather than presented as current advice.
Early-patch rankings can move too quickly
Early samples favor players who adapt quickly and champions that are selected often. A low-pick champion can move sharply after only a few results, so an early tier change is not proof of a patch effect.
Champion-role detail pages remain outside the recommendation set until the new sample clears the 100-game publication gate.
What an archived snapshot is for
An archive is not a build to copy into the current patch. It records which runes and items were observed at that point and helps document changes in the data pipeline.
When an archive warning is visible, review the current patch notes and in-client item information before acting on the old sequence.
How to check whether an update is ready
Use the data-status page to check patch and collection date. A sharp drop in published combinations can mean the new patch has not reached the sample gate. Missing data is not silently replaced with an older patch.
